Hunting Waterfowl, whitetailed deer, feral hogs, alligators, and small game happens in the fall,winter and spring. There is a plethora of Waterfowl such as blue-winged, green-winged teal, ring-necked ducks, mottled ducks and wood ducks. Another activity is wildlife watching. Wading birds and raptors are seen everyday in the area. fishing is another possibility. There is a variety of fish like largemouth bass, bluegill and other sunfish, as well as catfish and several species of exotic fish. The entrance fee for a private vehicle is $10 which is good 7 days at all park entrances. The fee for a pedestrian/cyclist is $5 which is good for 7 days at all park entrances. it admits one entering by foot, bicycle, or motorcycle. 16 yr olds and younger are admitted for free. The fee for an everglades National Park pass is $25 which is good for 12 months from the date of the purchase and is good for unlimited visits to the park. The fee for a commercia tour is charged baesd on the seating capacity of the vehicle. Motorcoach (26 or more passengers) is $200. mini bus (16-25 passengers) i9s $100. van (7-15 passengers) is $75. a sedan (1-6 passengers) is $25.
Hiking in addition is an activity you can participate in. one of the hikes you can go on is a unique 3 hour naturalist led eco-adventure. another hike there is is the leisurely paced and tailored to ages and experience levels. daily tours are from 9 am to 1:30 pm The price is $99.95 per person and kids 12 and under are half price. Reservations are required. private and group tours are available. Biking is the last activity they offer at the Everglades. The shark valley bike trail offers enormous open spaces this creates a fun, carefree peddling experience. bicycling is allowed on all paved roads. along the paved roads are 4 man-made ponds. while biking you can see alligators, wading birds, anhingas, and turtles. the tram toad is 15 miles round trip and takes an average of 2-3 hours to complete. There are no short cuts, so if you become tired or unable to finish the entire 15 mile trip turn around and return on the same road. The parking lot closes At 6 pm, so be sure to allow enough time.
